Della couple celebrates 72nd wedding anniversary

After 72 years of marriage, David Meltzer recently told his wife, Esther, and he loved her more than a day, he married her.
"Meltzer said:" In our marriage, we never go to bed angry.
The couple married August 26, 1940 in the Bronx. David is 93 years old, Esther 91.

"When Nancy told me to do the wedding celebration, I said of course, but I do not want to have a big thing," Esther said. First met Meltzers at a teen dance club as Esther recalls, "no liquor or food." She said, the couple danced a lot, and David, 19 years old, her 17-year-old , he asked her to marry him. Two years later, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Navy is the only time I left her in my life, "he said."
Meltzer submarine as a medic. He does not like to talk about his service, because, he said, "who died in World War II who did not so much better than I do".
After the war, Meltzer, medicine career in radiology. The couple moved to South Florida a half century ago.
"I live in medicine to 60 years," Meltzer said. He said: "Over the years, I have taught students how to use the X-ray machine."
He retired at 84 years old, but he said he was a child.
